Ava Grand makes clothing out of Shein bags
The recent Marist Grad won her school's fashion show for her use of sustainable materials.
Hi everyone,
Welcome to another wild Tuesday. 💫
This week’s newsletter features clothing designer Ava Grand, who *just* graduated from Marist College last weekend (congrats, Ava!) and will be moving to L.A. soon for a design job.
Ava is known on TikTok and beyond for her work turning product bags from the fast fashion clothing brand Shein into bomber jackets, vests, skirts, bucket hats, and more.
She presented her designs, which started as an experiment throughout the early stages of the pandemic, at the Marist College Silver Needle Runway Show (above). Out of the 24 design majors graduating in 2022, she was awarded Designer of the Year.
Check out our interview below:
You can find more of Ava’s work on Instagram or TikTok.
