Alix Klein makes jewelry from used bike tubes
The owner/creator at ABD Culture creates upcycled jewelry from your adventures, for your adventures.
Welcome back to The Upcyclist!
Today’s newsletter features Alix Klein of ABD Culture. Alix creates upcycled rubber jewelry from bike inner tubes.
A Pratt Institute alum and the daughter of a jeweler, Alix has known since college that jewelry design is her medium of choice.
However, as Alix says in the interview, “I just didn’t want to be another jeweler. I didn’t want to buy more metal to put into the marketplace. We have such a wealth of products— there’s a product for everything.”
After trial, error, Burning Man, and a laser-cutting class at Generator VT, ABD Culture was born.
